As freelance engagements are generally only days or weeks in duration, the freelance day rate is usually higher, often significantly higher.

As a starting point, we suggest searching the Internet for day rates applicable to freelance, as well as consultant, consultractor, contractor and subcontractor basis engagements of around 6 months duration, and then adding approximately 25 to 50%.
